From factory worker to entrepreneur in Ibiza: why I always start from the numbers

I started working at 14. Not out of passion, but because it was needed. For nine years my days were split in two: the factory by day, behind a bar counter by night. Up early, to bed late, and in between the feeling that life had to be something else.

That something else had a very specific name: Ibiza.

The first season

In 2014 I left everything behind in Italy and set off for my first season. I sold mojitos on the beach at Playa d'en Bossa, under the sun, back and forth all day long. For many people it would have been a summer job. For me it was the beginning of everything, because I felt this island was home.

That season taught me Ibiza's first rule: here, everybody knows everybody. The people you meet on the beach in June are the ones who open a door for you in October. Those who understand that, build. Those who don't stay tourists forever, even if they live here.

The bar, COVID and ground zero

In 2017 I opened my own cocktail bar. It was the dream of someone who had spent years on the other side of the counter: a place of my own, cared for down to the details, where people felt good.

In 2020 COVID forced me to close it. Overnight I was left with nothing. It wasn't just a financial blow: it was the moment I had to look squarely at everything I had done wrong and everything I had done right.

The hardest lesson was this: enthusiasm doesn't pay the bills. I had opened with my heart, and heart matters, but it isn't enough. You need the numbers. Knowing in advance what every month costs you, how much you need to take in to stay afloat, what happens if a season goes badly.

Starting again from the numbers

I started again from zero, with a phone and a laptop. I began selling services online, then moved closer to the financial markets and to systems based on artificial intelligence. It's a world where emotions destroy you and only those who reason on data survive.

That experience changed the way I think. Today, in front of any project, the first question I ask myself isn't "how beautiful is it?", but "do the numbers hold up?".

Ibiza today

Today Ibiza really is my home. I live and work here all year round, not just in summer. I built my businesses here, and in more than ten years I've got to know the people who make the island work: accountants, lawyers, agencies, suppliers, entrepreneurs.

And I've seen so many Italians arrive with the same enthusiasm I had, and make the same mistakes. Premises taken without understanding the lease. Budgets calculated on hope. Months lost looking for the right people, while trusting the wrong ones.

Why I do what I do

That's why today I help Italian entrepreneurs who want to open a business or invest in Ibiza. I don't sell dreams and I don't sell houses. I do one thing only: I put the real numbers on the table before you spend a single euro, and if the project holds up, I open the right doors for you.

If the analysis says it isn't worth it, I've saved you from the most expensive mistake of your life. If it says it is, you start with a plan and with the right people beside you.

It's what I would have wanted to find myself, when I arrived with a bucket of mojitos and a lot of drive.
